Context
Training sessions
Smart business or casual attire. Venues are heavily air-conditioned — a light jacket or layer is strongly advisable for all indoor sessions. The contrast between outdoor heat and air-conditioned interiors can be very significant.
City Exploration
​Light, breathable clothing is essential. A compact umbrella is advisable year-round — essential during the wet season. Comfortable walking shoes recommended. Modest dress required when visiting temples — shoulders and knees must be covered. Sun protection strongly advisable year-round.
GETTING AROUND
Navigating the city
Bangkok has an extensive and rapidly expanding public transport network. The BTS Skytrain and MRT Metro cover the main business and training districts efficiently, whilst taxis and ride-hailing services are very affordable for journeys across the city.

BTS Skytrain
Two elevated rail lines covering the main business districts of Sukhumvit, Silom, Siam, and Chatuchak. Runs approximately 06:00 to midnight daily. Air-conditioned and punctual. A Rabbit card or single journey token is available at all stations
MRT Metro
Three underground Metro lines connect key districts including the historic Rattanakosin area and Chatuchak. Connects directly to the BTS at multiple interchange stations. Accepts an MRT card or contactless payment. Fully air-conditioned and well signposted in English.
Airport connections
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK): Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai BTS station in approximately 30 minutes. Taxis and Grab available at the arrivals hall. Don Mueang Airport (DMK): connected to the city by taxi, Grab, or express bus.
Taxis & ride-hailing
(Grab)
Grab is the dominant ride-hailing platform and is strongly recommended for reliability and safety. Metered taxis are very affordable and widely available. Always ensure the meter is running when boarding a metered taxi.
Chao Phraya Express
Boat
The river express boat service along the Chao Phraya River offers a scenic and practical way to travel between the historic Rattanakosin area, business districts, and riverside hotels. A Chao Phraya Tourist Boat pass provides unlimited travel on the tourist route.

Currency
Thai Baht (THB). Card and contactless payments accepted at major hotels, shopping centres, and most restaurants. Carrying cash is advisable for street markets, smaller establishments, tuk-tuks, and temple entrance fees. ATMs available at both airports, all major malls, and throughout the city centre.
Time Zone
ICT (UTC+7) year-round. Bangkok is 4 hours ahead of Riyadh, 3 hours ahead of Dubai, 7 hours ahead of London in winter, and 4 hours ahead of Nairobi.
Electricity
Type A, B, and C plugs are all in common use in Thailand, 220V / 50Hz. Most Thai sockets accept both flat (Type A) and round (Type C) pins. GCC, African, and UK delegates will require a travel adaptor. Universal adaptors are readily available at Suvarnabhumi Airport and throughout the city.
Halal Dining
Bangkok has a well-established and growing halal food scene, reflecting Thailand's significant Muslim population and large number of Muslim visitors from across Asia and the GCC. Halal-certified restaurants are available throughout the city, with a strong concentration in the Sukhumvit and Silom areas near major training venues.
Places of Worship
Bangkok has numerous mosques, including the Haroon Mosque near the Chao Phraya River — one of the oldest in Bangkok. A Qibla direction indicator is available on request at most international hotels. Muslim delegates are advised that the Muslim Pro app provides accurate prayer times and Qibla direction worldwide. Christian delegates are well served — Bangkok has Catholic, Protestant, and international churches across the city, including Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Sukhumvit and Christ Church Bangkok.
Language
English is the official language of Nigeria and the language of government, business, and education throughout Abuja. Hausa is the most widely spoken local language in the capital region. Delegates will encounter no language barrier in professional and hotel environments. All training courses are delivered in English.
