Paris has a temperate oceanic climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are warm and pleasant; winters are cool but rarely harsh. Spring and autumn are particularly agreeable for combining training with city exploration.

City exploration
Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended — Paris is best explored on foot. A light jacket or coat is advisable outside of summer months.
GETTING AROUND
Navigating the city
Paris has one of Europe's most comprehensive and efficient public transport networks. The Métro connects virtually every part of the city, making it straightforward to travel between your hotel, training venue, and attractions.

The Métro
16 lines covering the entire city. Runs approximately 05:30 to 01:15 daily (until 02:15 on weekends). A Navigo travel card or carnet of tickets offers the most convenient and economical travel.
RER (Regional
Express)
Five lines connecting central Paris to the wider Île-de-France region. Essential for reaching Charles de Gaulle Airport (RER B, approximately 30 minutes to Gare du Nord) and Versailles (RER C).
Taxis & ride-hailing
New York's iconic yellow cabs are metered and available throughout Manhattan. Uber and Lyft operate extensively. Midtown traffic can be very heavy during peak hours — the subway is usually faster for cross-Manhattan journeys.
Airport connections
Charles de Gaulle (CDG): RER B to central Paris in 30–40 minutes. Orly (ORY): Orlyval shuttle connecting to RER B. Both airports are well served by taxis and private transfers.
Taxis & ride-hailing
Official taxis are metered and available at ranks throughout the city. Uber and Bolt operate widely. Traffic in central Paris can be significant during peak hours — the Métro is usually faster.
Walking & cycling
Central Paris is compact and highly walkable. The Vélib' cycle-hire scheme offers thousands of bicycles at docking stations across the city — ideal for short journeys along dedicated cycle lanes.

Currency
Euro (€). Contactless card payments are widely accepted across Paris. ATMs are available throughout the city. A small amount of cash is useful for markets and smaller establishments.
Time Zone
CET (UTC+1) in winter and CEST (UTC+2) in summer. Paris is 2 hours behind Riyadh and Dubai in winter, and 1 hour behind Nairobi in winter.
Electricity
Type E plug (two round pins), 230V / 50Hz. Delegates from GCC, Africa, and most of Asia will require a European travel adaptor. Available at airports and supermarkets.
Halal Dining
Paris has a large and well-established halal food scene. The 18th, 19th, and 20th arrondissements offer a wide variety. Halal options are also available in most central areas near major training venues.
Places of Worship
The Grande Mosquée de Paris (5th arrondissement) is the city's principal mosque. A Qibla direction indicator is available on request at most international hotels. Muslim delegates are advised that the Muslim Pro app provides accurate prayer times and Qibla direction worldwide. Paris also has numerous churches for Christian delegates, including Sacré-Cœur and Notre-Dame.
Language
French is the official language. English is widely spoken in business, hotels, and tourist areas. All training courses are delivered in English. Basic French phrases are warmly appreciated by locals.
