Training sessions
Smart business or casual attire. Singapore's corporate culture is generally smart. Venues are heavily air-conditioned — a light jacket or layer is strongly advisable for all indoor sessions throughout the year.
City exploration
Light, breathable clothing is essential outdoors. A compact umbrella is advisable year-round for afternoon showers. Singapore is walkable but outdoor temperatures and humidity are significant from mid-morning onwards.
GETTING AROUND
Navigating the city
Singapore has one of the finest public transport systems in the world — clean, punctual, air-conditioned, and covering virtually every corner of the island. The MRT is the most practical option for delegates, supplemented by an extensive bus network and widely available ride-hailing services.

Transit)
Six lines covering the entire island. Runs approximately 05:30 to midnight daily. An EZ-Link card or contactless bank card is accepted at all stations and on all buses. Stations are fully air-conditioned, well signposted in English, and among the cleanest and most efficient in the world.
Airport connections
Changi Airport (SIN) is connected to the city centre by MRT on the East-West Line — journey to City Hall approximately 30 minutes, running every 3-5 minutes. Taxis and Grab are also available at all terminals. Jewel Changi at the airport is worth exploring on arrival or departure.
Taxis & ride-hailing
(Grab)
Grab is the dominant ride-hailing platform and is strongly recommended for reliability, fixed pricing, and convenience. Metered taxis are widely available at ranks throughout the city. Both are excellent options for journeys to training venues not adjacent to MRT stations.
Bus network
Over 300 bus services cover areas not directly served by MRT. All accept EZ-Link card or contactless payment. An invaluable complement to the MRT for reaching training venues, hotels, and attractions across the island.
Walking
The CBD, Marina Bay, Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam are within comfortable walking distance of each other. Covered walkways and underground pedestrian networks connect many CBD buildings. Early morning and evening are the most pleasant times for extended outdoor walking.

Currency
Singapore Dollar (SGD). Contactless and card payments are universally accepted across Singapore. Cash is rarely necessary but ATMs are widely available. Singapore is effectively a cashless society — most transactions are completed by card, contactless, or mobile payment.
Time Zone
SGT (UTC+8) year-round. Singapore is 5 hours ahead of Riyadh, 4 hours ahead of Dubai, 8 hours ahead of London in winter, and 5 hours ahead of Nairobi. Singapore does not observe daylight saving time.
Electricity
Type G plug (three rectangular pins — same as the United Kingdom), 230V / 50Hz. Delegates from the UK will find their plugs fully compatible. GCC and most Asian delegates will require a UK-style adaptor. Available at Changi Airport and throughout the city.
Halal Dining
Singapore has a well-established halal food scene. Kampong Glam and the Geylang Serai area offer a particularly wide range of halal-certified Malay, Arab, and international options. Halal-certified restaurants and hawker stalls are clearly marked throughout the city.
Places of Worship
The Sultan Mosque in Kampong Glam is the city's principal mosque and one of the most beautiful in Southeast Asia. A Qibla direction indicator is available on request at most international hotels. Muslim delegates are advised that the Muslim Pro app provides accurate prayer times and Qibla direction worldwide. Christian delegates will find numerous churches of every denomination, including St Andrew's Cathedral and the Church of the Holy Family.
Language
English is one of Singapore's four official languages and is the primary language of business, government, education, and daily life. Delegates will encounter no language barrier whatsoever. All training courses are delivered in English.
