Natural History Museum & Clock Tower
The Natural History Museum in Victoria houses outstanding collections of Seychellois flora, fauna, and geology. The iconic miniature clock tower — a replica of London's Vauxhall Bridge clock — is the defining landmark of Victoria's compact and charming town centre.
Morne Seychellois National Park

What to expect throughout the year
The Seychelles has a tropical island climate — warm and humid year-round. Two monsoon periods bring different wind and rain patterns, though the islands are sheltered and the weather remains warm and pleasant throughout. The calmer northwest monsoon season from April to October offers the most settled conditions for training and water activities.

Training sessions
Smart casual attire is appropriate for most Seychellois training venues. Venues are well air-conditioned. Modest, smart dress is respectful in Victoria's professional and government settings.
Island exploration
Light, breathable clothing ideal given the tropical warmth. A compact umbrella or light rain jacket useful year-round. Comfortable walking shoes recommended for Victoria and national park trails. Sun protection strongly advisable — UV levels are high throughout the archipelago year-round.
GETTING AROUND
Navigating the city
Mahe is a small island — approximately 27 kilometres long — making it very straightforward to navigate. Taxis and hire cars are the primary transport options. Victoria itself is compact and walkable, and most training venues and resorts are within 30-45 minutes of the capital by road.

Taxis
Licensed taxis are the primary transport option for delegates in Victoria and across Mahe. Available at the airport, major hotels, and in Victoria town centre. Fares are metered or agreed in advance. Most hotels can arrange reliable taxi services for training venue transfers and island excursions.
Airport connections
Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) is approximately 8 kilometres from Victoria — approximately 10-15 minutes by taxi. The airport is compact and efficiently managed. Most major training resort hotels offer private transfer services.
Bus Network
The Seychelles Public Transport Corporation operates bus routes covering much of Mahe. An affordable option for delegates staying along main routes. For most international visitors, taxis and hire cars offer greater convenience for navigating the island's winding roads.
Car Hire
Widely available at the airport and from operators in Victoria. Recommended for delegates wishing to explore Mahe independently — the island's scenic coastal roads reward leisurely exploration. Driving is on the left-hand side of the road.
Inter-island ferries & flights
Regular Cat Cocos ferry services connect Mahe to Praslin (approximately 1 hour) and La Digue (approximately 15 minutes from Praslin). Island Air and Air Seychelles operate short domestic flights between islands. Both options are well organised and suitable for day excursions.

Currency
Seychellois Rupee (SCR). US Dollars and Euros are widely accepted at resort hotels and larger establishments. Card payments accepted at major hotels and shops. Carrying a modest amount of local currency is advisable for markets and taxis. ATMs are available at the airport and in Victoria town centre.
Time Zone
SCT (UTC+4) year-round. Victoria is on the same time as Dubai and Mauritius. It is 1 hour ahead of Riyadh and Nairobi, and 4 hours ahead of London in winter.
Electricity
Type G plug (three rectangular pins — same as the United Kingdom), 240V / 50Hz. Delegates from the UK will find their plugs fully compatible. GCC and most Asian delegates will require a UK-style adaptor. Available at the airport and in Victoria.
Halal Dining
The Seychelles has a Muslim community and a growing range of halal-certified dining options in Victoria and at major resort hotels. Creole cuisine uses fresh seafood, coconut, and tropical spices and is widely available in halal-certified establishments. Most resort hotels can accommodate halal dietary requirements on request.
Places of Worship
The Eid Mosque in Victoria serves the island's Muslim community. Christian delegates are very well served — the Seychelles is predominantly Christian, with the magnificent St Paul's Cathedral and Immaculate Conception Cathedral both centrally located in Victoria.
Language
Seychellois Creole, English, and French are all official languages. English is widely spoken in hotels, business settings, and throughout Victoria. All training courses are delivered in English. Delegates will encounter no language barrier in professional and hotel environments.
