Recommended Attire

Training sessions

Smart business or casual attire. Layering is advisable — Amsterdam venues can vary in temperature, particularly in the cooler months.

City Exploration

Comfortable, flat-soled walking shoes are strongly recommended — Amsterdam's cobbled streets and canal bridges are best navigated on foot. A compact umbrella or waterproof jacket is advisable year-round.

GETTING AROUND

Navigating the city

Amsterdam is one of the most navigable cities in Europe. The tram network covers virtually the entire city centre, and the compact layout means many training venues, hotels, and attractions are within comfortable walking distance of one another.

Mode

Deatils

Tram network

The most practical way to get around Amsterdam. 15 lines criss-cross the city centre, running approximately 06:00 to midnight daily. An OV-chipkaart (travel card) or contactless bank card is accepted on all trams. Night trams operate on key routes at weekends.

Metro & Bus

Four Metro lines connect Amsterdam Centraal with key districts including the Zuidas business district. An extensive bus network covers areas not served by tram or Metro. All accept the OV-chipkaart.

Airport connections

Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) is connected to Amsterdam Centraal by direct train — journey approximately 17 minutes, with trains every 10–15 minutes. One of the best airport-to-city connections in Europe.

Taxis & ride-hailing

Official taxis are available at ranks throughout the city. Uber operates in Amsterdam. Central Amsterdam has limited car access due to canal geography — trams and walking are generally faster for city-centre journeys.

Cycling

Amsterdam is the world's most cycle-friendly city, with over 800 kilometres of dedicated cycle paths. Hire bicycles are available throughout the city — often the fastest and most enjoyable way to explore between sessions.
